Buy-In

Buy-in is the amount players need to sit at a cash table or to join a tournament. In cash games there are limits according to the stake and the table limit that you are playing. In tournaments and SNGs, the buy-in is the amount required to register for the game.

Minimum and Maximum Buy-Ins

• Limit poker At the Limit tables, the minimum buy-in is 10 x stake. There is no maximum buy-in. For example, at a €0.50/€1 limit table, where the stake is €0.50, the minimum buy-in is 10 x €0.50, or €5.


• Pot and No-Limit poker Pot Limit and No Limit games have a minimum and a maximum buy-in as well and are fixed according to the table limits and the type of game. On a regular table, the minimum buy-in is 20 x BB and the maximum buy-in is 100 x BB. In other words, at a €1/€2 Pot or No Limit table, where the BB is €2, the minimum buy-in is 20 x €2, (€40) and the maximum buy-in is 100 x €2, (€200).


• High Stack Yachting Poker also offers High Stack games where the minimum buy-in is 75 x BB and the maximum buy-in is 250 x BB. At a €1/€2 Pot or No Limit High Stack table, where the BB is €2, the minimum buy-in is 75 x €2, (€150) and the maximum buy-in is 250 x €2, (€500).

Rake

The 'rake' is the commission fee taken from any hand by the casino operating a poker game. It is generally 0-5% of the pot. If the flop is not reached, then there is no rake taken. You can calculate exactly how much rake is taken by reviewing the rake tables below.

Tournament Fee

The 'tournament fee' is the commission taken by the casino for organizing tournaments. It is taken from each player that signs up for the tournament or SNG, and is generally around 10% of the buy-in. For example, at a €5 tournament, the buy-in fee is usually €0.50.

When registering for a tournament, the buy-in is written first and then the buy-in fee is posted (with a plus sign between them), for example: €5+€0.50.

Note: Some tournaments allow for rebuys and add-ons, and in these instances no fee is taken.
